We had a visit from Liam Byrne (MP for Birmingham Hodge Hill & Chair of the Global Parliamentary Network on the IMF & World Bank) to Dawat-e-Islami’s centre: Faizan-E-Madina (Stechford, Birmingham). During the visit, the representatives of Dawat-e-Islami’s public relations department welcomed MP Liam Byrne and briefed him through a presentation on numerous works of Dawat-e-Islami taking place in Birmingham as well as on a national and global level. The head of Dawat-e-Islami Midlands & Wales: Syed Fuzail Raza Attari was also present.
Many points of shared interests were discussed. Dawat-e-Islami’s COVID response was discussed in detail. Dawat-e-Islami in the Midlands provided thousands of food parcels since the start of the pandemic and ran initiatives such as ‘Tackling Holiday hunger’ to support struggling families with food parcels during the holidays. Work was also done to tackle loneliness in the community especially during the pandemic.
MP Liam expressed his happiness on the work of Dawat-e-Islami and praised the representatives for their great work to tackle the core issues in the communities. He was pleased to know how the representatives of Dawat-e-Islami are bringing a positive change to many people’s lives.
